The Wayne State College campus contains over 300 pieces of artwork, much of which has been painstakingly collected across decades. We needed to increase the visibility of our collection while making it easier for visitors to discover the artwork. In order to do this effectively, it was necessary to make interactive exploration as intuitive as possible. Since our goal was to encourage discovery, the map needed to be user-friendly in multiple ways. This included making it obvious where artwork is located, how to select a particular location, how to view an individual piece, as well as providing the ability to search by different information about the artist or medium or location.
